enterprise development

The only real solution to eradicating poverty is to create sustainable enterprises. Enterprises drive every economy and create jobs, livelihoods, tax revenue and prosperity. Encouraging  entrepreneurship and the establishment of micro-enterprise and supporting these to grow is at the heart of this project.

The Kingdom of Eswatini (formerly Swaziland), with a population of 1.3 million, has the fifth highest unemployment rate in the world for 15-24 year olds (47.1%) and ranks 203rd out of 218 in the world for overall unemployment, with a total unemployment rate of 28%. Eswatini is in an unemployment crisis and desperately needs to increase the number of small and medium enterprises and to attract foreign direct investment.

enterprise education

In 2019 All Out Africa ran a highly successful enterprise education pilot with orphaned and vulnerable school youth aged 10-14 from its Ezulwini Homework Club.  92% of participants said they now understand more about running a business and 92% felt their communication skills had improved as a result of the pilot.

micro lending

In 2017 AOA initiated a micro lending initiative where business training and micro-finance to the tune of ZAR4,000 was provided to eight women. 100% of the loans were repaid by June 2019. In partnership with SWIFT, All Out Africa also provided capacity support to a further nine entry-level businesses.

Business mentoring

In 2017 AOA initiated a business mentoring initiative where business mentoring was provided to eight and then the following year a further nine businesses in partnership with SWIFT. Since then a further ten businesses have been supported with capacity development and mentoring. This project aims to support more micro-enterprises to grow and become sustainable.

build a future

Support us to build small infrastructure needed for community wellbeing including classrooms, toilets, soup kitchens, homes, water supply and waste facilities. We identify needed infrastructure working with community leadership authorities then fundraise to purchase the materials and labour to complete the build while managing the whole project from start to finish with the expertise of our local team.

hike eswatini

We help develop hiking trails in Eswatini to foster eco-tourism, health, community participation and environmental protection. We have partnered with the hiking operators All Out Africa, Chubeka Trails, Swazi Trails, Vaya Trails and Dust and Boots to develop a collaborative network of hiking trails across the Kingdom and ensure the sustainability of the project. We work with various land owners, communities, reserves, national authorities (including ETA and ENTC) and international partners (including UNDP, CEPF, GEF) to make this project a success.
