The mission of this project is to help create 1000 businesses with youth in Eswatini.
The Kingdom of Eswatini (formerly Swaziland), with a population of 1.3 million, has the third highest unemployment rate in the world for 15-24 year olds (47.1%) and ranks 203rd out of 218 in the world for overall unemployment. Eswatini is in an unemployment crisis and desperately needs to increase the number of small and medium enterprises and to attract foreign investment.
In July 2021 Eswatini erupted into protests driven by youth faced with a bleak future of limited options. Sixty percent of people live below the poverty line. The only real solution to eradicating poverty is to create sustainable enterprises. Enterprises drive the economy and create jobs, livelihoods, tax revenue and prosperity. Encouraging entrepreneurship and the establishment of micro-enterprises and supporting these to grow in Eswatini has never been more important and is what this project does.

enterprise education
In 2019 All Out Africa, in partnership with the Langbridge family, ran a highly successful enterprise education pilot with orphaned and vulnerable school youth aged 10-14 from its Ezulwini Homework Club. 92% of participants said they now understand more about running a business and 92% felt their communication skills had improved as a result of the pilot. We seek to grow this pilot to reach more youth to encourage entrepreneurial thinking and to provide the basic skills of business.

micro lending
In 2017 All Out Africa, in partnership with Atle Sundoy and other past volunteers, initiated a micro lending initiative providing micro-finance to start-up businesses. So far a total ZAR109,000 has been loaned to 11 entrepreneurs with a further ZAR75,000 in the pipeline. Nine of the loans have been repaid. A further four are in process. All Out Africa has partnered with Swaziland Fair Trade (SWIFT) and Swazi Bank to further grow and scale up this micro-lending program with the goal of lending to 1000 youth enterprises.

Support us to build small infrastructure needed for community wellbeing including classrooms, toilets, soup kitchens, homes, water supply and waste facilities. We identify needed infrastructure working with community leadership authorities then fundraise to purchase the materials and labour to complete the build while managing the whole project from start to finish with the expertise of our local team.

hike eswatini
|
We help develop hiking trails in Eswatini to foster eco-tourism, health, community participation and environmental protection. We have partnered with the hiking operators All Out Africa, Chubeka Trails, Swazi Trails, Vaya Trails and Dust and Boots to develop a collaborative network of hiking trails across the Kingdom. We work with various land owners, communities, reserves, national authorities (including ETA and ENTC) and international partners (including UNDP, CEPF, GEF) to promote Eswatini as a hiking destination and to make this project a success.
